Affiche de Chelsea Girls

Paul Joseph Morrissey (February 23, 1938 – October 28, 2024) was an American film director, known for his early association with Andy Warhol. His most famous films include Flesh (1968), Trash (1970), Heat (1972), Flesh for Frankenstein (1973), and Blood for Dracula (1974), all starring Joe Dallesandro. The Velvet Underground and Nico (1966) Depicts the first band practice of The Velvet Underground and Nico at the Factory in New York in January 1966, and is essentially one long loose improvisation. Chelsea Girls (1966) Lacking a formal narrative, various residents of the Chelsea Hotel in 1966 New York City are presented in a split screen with a single audio track in conjunction with one side of screen. Flesh (1968) Desperate for money and no income, a male prostitute interplays with a variety of clients and hustlers. Trash (1970) Over the course of a day, a heroin addict ODs in front of an upper-class couple, attempts to fool welfare by having his girlfriend fake a pregnancy, and frustrates the women in his life with his drug-induced impotence. Women in Revolt (1971) Aloof heiress Candy is trapped in an unhappy relationship with her brother; virginal intellectual Jackie believes women are oppressed in contemporary society; and nymphomaniac Holly has come to loathe men, despite her attraction to them. The trio join a militant feminist group but find that their newfound liberation doesn't make them any happier. Heat (1972) Unemployed ex-child actor Joey uses sex to get his landlady to reduce rent, and then tries to exert his influence on washed-up, barely has-been actress Sally. She tries to help him, until he realizes that she simply isn't well-connected enough to be of any service. The affair is complicated by Sally's psychotic, possibly lesbian daughter Jessica, who tries to muscle in on her mother's relationship. Flesh for Frankenstein (1973) Baron Frankenstein creates two 'zombies' – one male, one female – planning to mate them in order to create a master race. Blood for Dracula (1974) An ailing vampire count travels to Italy with his servant in search of a bride. The Hound of the Baskervilles (1978) A Sherlock Holmes spoof by Dudley Moore and Peter Cook about a family that has been haunted for years by the curse of a horrible hound. Madame Wang's (1981) A KGB agent arrives in California to prepare for a Russian takeover... and meet Jane Fonda. After losing his papers, he connects with a band of over-the-hill transvestites and becomes a punker in a Chinese restaurant owned by elderly transsexual Madame Wang. Forty Deuce (1982) A young hustler tries to obtain drug money by selling a boy to a middle-aged man; his plans are disrupted when the kid abruptly dies. Mixed Blood (1984) Brazilian dealers battle Latino rivals in Manhattan using teen soldiers. Conflict grows to involve German supplier, his English girlfriend, Puerto Rican ex-cop, and Japanese captain amid corruption and violence. Beethoven's Nephew (1985) In an effort to provide a secure future for his nephew, Beethoven is locked in a custody battle with his his sister-in-law. The mother doesn't consider the aging, irate composer a suitable guardian, and the boy himself shows not much interest in his uncle either. Spike of Bensonhurst (1988) Italian teen Spike Fumo aspires to be a boxer. He falls for a rich girl, who turns out to be the daughter of a Mafia boss. Spike is threatened to leave Bensonhurst by the mob, and so goes to a poverty-stricken Puerto Rican sector of Brooklyn.
